Outreach Youth Camp

RSC runs 100% on volunteer power, including US Certified Sailing Instruction, supplied by its members. Our equipment and programs are primarily self-funded through fundraising efforts of our membership, membership fees and class course fees.  Thanks to NMTA’s Grow Boating grant, we are able to offer this free sailing program to low income, disadvantaged youth or underserved communities.

This four hours outreach camp is an introduction to small boat sailing class for youth aged 12-18.  This camp covers sailing terminology, indicators of wind direction, rigging basics, steering with a tiller, tacking, jibbing, sail trim, weight balance and other foundational sailing skills through fun on land games and water activities.  During this 4 hours camp, campers will have 1.5 hours to sail with our experienced sailors on Lake Washington.  No experience required.  Please come join us and spread this event for us.
