Skill Building Through Racing

| For the Spring Series participants should consider a wetsuit or dry suit or at least woolens and fowlies and a change of clothes. The water temp as of writing this is a cool 46°. Chris Volk will be heading up the Race Committee and is always looking for folks to assist and learn that job. As usual we will assign crews so everyone is always learning or learning by teaching. We will continue to use raceres@rentonsailing.org to sign up. Beth will occassionally need a racer to take on crew assignments We also need racers to volunteer to help with Dockmaster and Assistant Dockmaster duties opening up the dock, helping with riggging and making sure everything is locked up before shoving off and to make sure everything is tied down, put away and locked up at the end of the race. Skill building through racing will continue every tuesday through August 29. Plan to arrive and begin rigging at 5:00 p.m. so the Dockmaster can lock up by 5:30 and be underway to the race course before 5:45. All members are encouraged to particiapte in Skill Building through Racing. Even if you’re “not into racing” you will become a better sailor much faster by participating in the occassional race. |
