Renton Sailing Center Agreement:
I understand that the Renton Sailing Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community sailing organization dedicated to the sport of sailing, and that the Center has no regular employees to maintain equipment or supervise members. I further understand that, to keep costs down, members must share in the responsibilities of running the Center, serving as Center officers, and assist with maintenance, repair and Center activities, with an expectation that each Advanced sailor will volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per year.
I understand that, until I complete the basic course of instruction and/or get signed off on the practical skills, I will be able to use Center boats only under the supervision of qualified Center members.
I have read the Bylaws of the Center (and posted on the Center’s web site), which outline the rights and responsibilities of membership, and I agree to be bound by those provisions as stated or as amended.
I have read the Renton Sailing Center Code of Conduct and agree to be bound by the provisions as stated or amended.
I have read the Renton Sailing Center Safety Action/Response Plan (and posted on the Center’s web site), and I agree to follow these safety precautions and guidelines, including wearing a fastened U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device at all times both on the dock and in all vessels.
I authorize Renton Sailing Center to use photos, film, digital recording, or videotape that may contain my likeness, for promotional or informational purposes in any and all media including its web site or social media sites. I understand that I will not receive compensation of any kind for this use, and that my image may be used without my review.
I recognize that sailing can be hazardous, and I assume all risks for injury or damage from any cause whatsoever, resulting directly or indirectly from the use of or reason of presence in or on the Center grounds, buildings, boats or equipment.
I understand that no one is to operate a vessel while under the influence of alcoholic beverages or controlled or illegal substances, and no one who appears intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled or illegal substance will be allowed onboard.
I agree to indemnify and hold the Renton Sailing Center, its Board of Trustees, the City of Renton, and the Renton Parks Department harmless from any liability whatsoever, caused by or related in any way to use or possession of the Center’s equipment and facilities by me, my family members or anyone else using a boat which is checked out to me.
I acknowledge by my signature that I have read the above terms and conditions, and that I agree with them.
